MAINTENANCE
How do I clean my glasses?
How do I clean my glasses?
To maintain optimal clarity and extend the life of your MaskOptix eyewear, follow these simple cleaning steps:
- Rinse with Lukewarm Water
Gently rinse the lenses under lukewarm water to remove dust, salt, or debris. Avoid hot water, which can damage lens coatings. - Use a Lens-Safe Cleaner
Apply a small amount of lens-safe cleaning solution or mild dish soap. Never use household cleaners like Windex or alcohol—they can degrade anti-fog and anti-reflective coatings. - Clean with Your Fingers
Using clean fingertips, gently rub the lenses in circular motions. Be sure to clean both sides thoroughly. - Rinse Again
Rinse off all soap or cleaner residue with lukewarm water. - Dry with a Microfiber Cloth
Pat dry using a clean microfiber cloth. Avoid paper towels, tissues, or clothing, which can scratch the lenses. - Store Properly
When not in use, keep your eyewear in its protective case to prevent scratches and exposure to moisture or contaminants. - Activate Anti-Fog
Before dives you can reactivate your vacuum deposited anti-fog coasting as needed with free cloth provided.
How do I adjust the fit of my glasses?
How do I adjust the fit of my glasses?
MaskOptix glasses feature flexible wire-core temples that can be gently shaped to match the contours of your head and helmet setup. Follow these steps to fine-tune the fit:
- Start with Clean Hands
Make sure your hands are clean and dry to avoid transferring oils or debris onto the frame or lenses. - Identify the Wire-Core Section
Locate the adjustable portion of the temple arms—typically the last few inches near the ear. This section contains a bendable wire core. - Make Small Adjustments
Using both hands, gently bend the temple arms inward or outward to adjust the grip around your head. You can also curve them slightly downward behind the ears for a more secure hold. - Check Helmet Compatibility
After adjusting, test the glasses under your dive helmet or mask to ensure they sit comfortably and do not interfere with the seal. The temples should follow the natural shape of your head without creating pressure points. - Fine-Tune as Needed
Repeat small adjustments until the glasses feel snug but not tight. Avoid over-bending, which can weaken the wire or distort the frame. - Test During Movement
Move your head side to side and up and down to ensure the glasses stay in place without shifting or causing discomfort.
